Raglan Golf Club
A new chapter at Raglan Golf Club begins.
The back nine greens were re-laid with turf in order to remove the high levels of thatch which had accrued after low levels of cutting for five years. The front nine greens were heavily scarified and reseeded due to high volumes of moss.
Undergrowth throughout the back nine was cut back, which allowed us to reclaim significant areas of rough and woodland.
Over 2km of primary drainage was laid across the course, targeting problematic wet spots. This intrusive work has laid the platform for our wider drainage network which we will continue to grow.
Buggy path construction begins for the back nine of the course. The pond on the 15th hole is cleared of debris and a retaining wall was built to the green side bank.
A bunker project began in partnership with Ecobunker. Nine new bunkers were created (seven new and two renewed) using their patented system.
A change of course management brought in Lucy Sellick. She brings her experience from working at the Celtic Manor, Saltford and Wenvoe Castle.
The buggy track, now following all 18 holes of the golf course is complete! Work also begins on the new 12 hole mini golf course.
Building works are completed and the new café and barn are ready to open.
The golf course opens to the general public.
